LLN CONFERENCE SUCCESS CREATES AN IMPACT AT IRONBRIDGE GORGE

Pictured: The LLN Team, Coalbrookdale
As we enter into the final months of our LLN, this especially significant event played out to great success against the stunning backdrop of Ironbridge Gorge. Attendance was high and throughout the gorgeously sunny day delegates enjoyed a varied programme of events which included much food for thought. The day's intentions were to celebrate valued collaborations and showcased successes. Importantly, the event also looked ahead in terms of planning how we can help partners to maximise future opportunities and face future challenges.
Delegates also had an opportunity to voice their LLN-inspired opinions to camera during the event.Following the conference's chosen theme of “Landmark Achievements”, attendees were encouraged on the day to spare five minutes to speak with our roaming camera crew during the action at the venue’s Coalbrookdale site. We would like to extend a special 'thank you' to all who were filmed on the day and edited highlights will be released on a special DVD to be distributed later this year.

LLN INSPIRES AWARD-WINNING BORDERLINES DOCUMENTARY THEATRE
Theatre can be used to help people understand themselves, their communities and their responsibilities and can challenge destructive and anti-social attitudes.
New Vic Borderlines is the award-winning New Vic initiative working with people at risk of being socially marginalised due to position, status, class or culture. Established in 1999, it has undertaken work of international significance and is acknowledged as a national beacon for the ways theatre can be used to work within a community.
The Borderlines team is regulary asked to present at national and international conferences and was the first theatre company to be invited to present a piece of work in the House of Commons for an audience of MPs, Ministers and policy makers. Earlier this year, the team were chosen by the Home/Foreign and Commonwealth's Office's Forced Marriage Unit to devise and deliver the nationally-significant All Our Daughters? project, called "life saving" by the Crown Prosecution Service and Scotland Yard.
Borderlines' accolades include: a Clarion Award; two Citizenship Foundation Global Ethics Impetus Awards; a Sustainable Staffordshire Award and a British Community Safety Award.
